If you define Beauty with luscious red lips, bright large eyes, and a curvaceous body (or in your case an anorexic one), then Venus is definitely not a beauty.
Just like Man has mistaken their lust/infatuations/puppylove as Love, we hold an illusion of the God of Love.
She is simply a female God with plain and average looks, and a petite figure, not particularly voluptuous or skinny. She doesn't have perfect hair; brown locks fall in her face and around her shoulders, tangled at some parts. She doesnt dress up (not to mention scantily); dull cream-coloured robes hung loosely on her small frame. She doesnt ooze charisma, she doesnt radiate warmth.. she doesnt knock people out with a mesmerising flutter of eyelids. she's just so.. plain.
The God of Love, Venus, the Lovely Venus.
on a closer look, you would notice that at the corners of her eyes are constantly wet -- almost as if teardrops were going to roll down her cheeks. Well they never do. besides, with the unexplainably beautiful smile on her face, who could ever imagine her in tears?
the Venus described here is purely my own version and has nothing to do with the 'real' one in Greek(or is it Roman) Mythology
